Day 1 is in the books. Uneventful. High of 97. No rain. Truck lost a tire in front of us, but we missed most of the debris. 11 MPG with the AC blasting. We split the driving. As a shake down day, all systems passed. We regroup, kick the tires and get back on the road west in a couple of days.

We are on the road. Officially making our way to California.
This feels very full-circle. The Sunflowers in this photo grew from seeds that were knocked out of the bird feeder. They germinated and took root, have been nourished by us and now are giving back in beauty and pollen. What a glorious System.

I have had a few weeks off from Bird of the Day postings on Facebook, but things are evolving. I am setting up a blog where I can better organize and share the images and audio that I will be capturing. See for example…the Birdbath Cam…coming online soon. It does cool slo mo.
